At first this album was kinda mediocre to me. But then...it grew on me pretty fast. Now I really enjoy this album.

Exactly. At a first glance this album is pretty dull, but you really have to give it some time. Once you've done that, the album is incredibly enjoyable.

IMO Follow The Reaper was their best. Period.

Duh.

Horrible in comparison to any other Bodom CDs. Extremely generic and about 4 or 5 of the songs have the same exact structure to them.

This album is simply amazing. If people are wondering why the guitar might be a bit different is because Laiho got drunk on I think Christmas and fell off a car, so he broke his wrist. Probobly my faveourite tracks off this album is Living Dead Beat, Are You Dead Yet? If You Want Peace...Prepare for War and In Your Face. The only issue I have with the album is that it's too damn short!

Great review. I'll definitely be getting this album, as Bodom is my favorite band. I'm trying to get their CDs in the order of which they came out, so it might be weeks before I get my hands on it.

This is my least favorite album by Bodom. I'm with Shattered on the fact that Bodom is beginning to lose my interest. This Message Edited On 06.24.06

This is a great album. And Alex, the guitar work isn't like on the other albums because Alexi was drunk and broke his wrist and needed the guitar parts to be a little simpler than on the older stuff. Plus, like i said on the FTR review. Had they kept making FTRs and HBs I probably would've stopped buying their stuff because it would get boring hearing the same stuff over and over again.

I like this album but it really isnt the fast, melodic Bodom I love, their older stuff was more of the Bodom i like, like Follow the Reaper was a great CD, but some times bands need to change to keep interest, Great review by the wayThis Message Edited On 08.02.06This Message Edited On 08.02.06

It is their style. It's a unique sound that they no one else is doing, it's just different compared to their old power metal stuff.

I like the fact that Alexi used heavier riffs in this album, in my opinion COB's best album yet.

I still like FTR better. But this beats HCDR.

It's cool, but would you really call their older stuff power metal? It doesn't strike me as power metal.
Pretty solid album, everyone hates on this because it's not 'Cob's style' but I do enjoy it. Trashed, Lost, and Strungout is an excellent song, slightly reminicsent of their past and combining modern elements.
Too bad they never play it live. Does anyone know why this is?

Couldn't have said it better myself, altough I still think Laiho's vocals sound shitty. Enough of the yappy screaming, I wanna see that guy go with some low screams or death grunts. The vocals don't matter that much though, the riffs are cathy as hell, and I love that fuckin keyboard. Great review.

Dude, Laiho has amazing vocals on ALL albums.
