definitely fair, i do think this is a bit different stylistically than the great ones which makes it pretty fun. much more jazzy.

Unfortunately yeah the album fumbles its closure, but there are hard keepers. "Shock Wave" just continues on the road paved by SBS, there's no way one could love that album and not find at least some enjoyment in this song

plus that bit around ~1:15 is soooo catchy oh god Ward they needed you back so bad later

yeah shock wave is pretty fun. t/t is super catchy, love it. and johnny blade riffs hard. a few duds here but way better than technical ecstasy.

Side 1 of this is actually pretty damn killer. Every song works. I love the live "off the floor" feel of the drum sound. Ward's last show of great drum work.

Side 2, though, shows problems. Don't like Shock Wave, one of their weakest songs ever; Air Dance is actually cool but just feels like a band trying to be a different band; and Swinging the Chain is alright, kinda dig Ward's vocals, but doesn't quite fully jell.

I am in the minority here. I was extremely Surprised by how much i enjoyed this. I was expecting a trainwreck and extremely generic stuff. This was dope.
