that's way I said that, if it was included, it would've been better than In Rock imo

Lord's lead on Highway Star remains such a unique piece of rock.
Timeless.

These guys had a lot of blues influence.
Then again, so did Sabbath and Zep.

If we count live albums yes. Jac if you're into long jams and improvisations you may want to check Live in Stockholm if you haven't already. It's not as good as Made in Japan but its jams and improvisations are better.

Having said that, Highway Star is one of their best openers, although Speed King certainly gives it a run for its money.
Burn is a good opener too.
But Highway Star is prob the most memorable of those.
Picking a fave Purple closer is a tougher task though.

Purple had some awesome openers. Fireball and Stormbringer are incredible too. As far as closers go, it's either Hard Lovin' Man or Space Truckin'. My personal favorite is Space Truckin' though.

It's kind of a shame that many seem to forget this legendary band. Tell people about DP and they'll only mention Smoke on the Water.
It seems they never achieved the kind of fame that Zeppelin and Sabbath did for some reason.
