I'm not really trying to argue against this album at all, I actually thought it was pretty cool and enjoyed it. Plus I've only listened to it once so it's not even like I'm really in a position to make a valid argument against someone who has clearly listened to it many times. The feeling I was trying to convey after listening to it once through wasn't really that the album didn't meet some preconceived notion that there must be a huge, gratifying climax after all that build. Really, it's kind of the opposite- I thought the album accomplished the concept a little too well to the point where it becomes a bit tedious. Do I think they accomplished what they set out to do? Absolutely. For me it's not really a matter of them failing, but more of whether or not the concept really lends itself to an entertaining audio-only experience. As of right now I thought it was entertaining enough to get through, but not necessarily to listen to multiple times. I read a review about it somewhere that said the album is destined to be discussed more than actually listened to.. that's kind of what I'm getting at. Who knows maybe I'll end up eating my words.. at the end of the I've still got nothing but first impressions. Just wanted to discuss my initial reaction.

Yeah I mean the album was almost more interesting than it was simply good because of its musical quality for me, but it's also really interesting AND really good, which makes it awesome IMO, but I could see how that wouldn't satisfy everybody.

I like this, but some parts do feel a little bloated.

It's as masturbatory and self-important as My Beautiful Dark Twisted fantasy, if not more. But it was JUST creative enough to make it good but this could have so so easily been godawful.

I love how it makes everything you're doing while listening to it feel like a sci-fi movie.
