Yeah I agree with you, this will always be my favourite work of his. I love the Acts though, and wish he would just release Act 4. Migrant was a disappointment.

I wouldn't say it's a disappointment; I actually quite liked it (it's a solid 3.5 for me). You have to look at it like it's own thing instead of trying to compare it to the other stuff. Granted, it's nowhere near complex as anything he has done, but it is really good, and I still like listening to it. Sometimes, The Acts and the Spectrum are kind of exhausting to listen to. Migrant dials it down a bit and just flows.
Also, I think I might take back what I said about The Rival Cycle the other day. It's mostly just that second verse that kind of bothers me; the rest of the song is pretty kick ass now that I listen to it again.
|
| |
Solid 3.5 for me too, but that's pretty disappointing considering the standards of the Acts and Color Spectrum if you ask me. Some of the songs were downright awful.
Agreed about the Rival Cycle, Casey's part(s) are so damn brutal
|
| |
Ah, now I see where you are coming from. You liked the Acts a lot more than I did.
|
| |
Oh yeah I absolutely loved the Acts, so fantastic
|
| |
I had them all at a 4 originally, but I bumped II up to a 4.5 recently.
|
| |
I think they're all in the 4.5-5 range myself, and it's weird because I had this exact same conversation with someone like 5 minutes ago on a TDH list he made.
|
| |
ha ha, interesting.
I think Don't Look Back and Kiss of Life are boring on Migrant, but I think the rest is great. Girl and Shame rule them all, though.
|
| |
I really hate Cycles, Sweet Naivete and Shouting at the Rain, but Whisper, Girl, Shame, Bring You Down, An Escape are fantastic. Anyway, Act 4 pls
Jamming Mi Fa Mi now, god the Crop and the Pest is so fucking amazing
|
| |
I like Sweet Naivete, but the chorus does kind of fuck it up. The chord progression of the piano on the verses is fucking great, though.
I can't remember what I heard first from these dudes; Stay Small or The Evidence. I know I bought Mi Fa Mi first, though, cause Synapse was a lot harder to find. Ending up buying it off the net, if I remember right.
|
| |
I don't even remember a time before I knew these dudes, my brother showed them to me at such an early age and they just stuck with me. I didn't get into Mi Fa Mi for ages though, it took a lot of listens.
|
| |
I didn't know about them until after Mi Fa Mi was released. Then, I heard they broke up shortly after I bought it. I was bummed.
|
| |
Damn I hate when that happens! If I'd been older than like 11 when they broke up, nothing would've stopped me getting to America and seeing their final show
|
| |
u got frog'd
|
| |
frogstomp'd
|
| |
I've seen some live videos. They seemed really good.
Had the same thing happen with Alexisonfire, too. That was also a pisser.
|
| |
Unlucky! TREOS's last show is actually legendary, among fans anyway
Man A Realization of the Ear is fantastic though, them harmonies. And the dude who did the electronics on Mi Fa Mi is really damn talented.
|
| |
According to Wiki, most of the band had a hand in with the electronics on Mi Fa Mi.
|
| |
Yeah but there's an obvious increase in electronics because of that one dude, Brian Southall I think
|
| |
Yeah, that was the dude that 'replaced' Casey.
