No doubt that Trent is a musical Messiah. NIN hit their peak with this one. I love it to death but I find it to be my third favorite next to 'Broken' and 'Pretty Hate Machine'.
Still a classic.

Closer is one of the weakest songs on here. It's still great, but constant airplay probably hurt.

lol yah i was thinking the same thing.
and no im pretty sure the site went defunct around '98
the closest thing i found for the fragile was an in depth review of the album, but it really just talked about the songs and not the concept at all.

I have a quick question, if any if you could help I would be highly appreciative.
I have been looking for industrial for a long time that actually sounds like industrial machines moving. Don't get me wrong, I love other industrial, but it sounds to me like very heavy techno (which I like) which isn't exactly what I am looking for. I am looking for more of the sound in Mr. Self Destruct and Reptile, if you know what I mean.
So far the only other songs that sound remotely like that are a handful by Pan Sonic.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Just off the top of my head you might want to look into ministry or skinny puppy, or going back even further to the roots of industrial, bands like foetus and throbbing gristle. You might want to go to the industrial thread in the forums and ask Meatplow because he can probably give you a better answer than anyone else here.

Thanks. I have a few Ministry CDs and one from Skinny Puppy. I like all of them but again, Skinny Puppy has hard-techno keyboard riffs and Ministry is more on the metal side...
Did you ever hear Jourgensen's cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow?

Nah, I haven't heard it but it sounds hilarious. But yeah I think the farther back you go in time in terms of industrial bands (like 70's and early 80's industrial), the closer you'll get to hearing what you're looking for.
