Willie, your avatar is cool, who is the lady in the picture?

Whoa Fasco its obviously from the sexy Summer Glau as River Tam in the 'Firefly' series (made a movie that continues the story called 'Serenity'); both are epic standards of sci-fi in recent years.

This is one of my favourite vocal performances from Dave. Aside from 'Sealed With A Kiss', all of the vocals here are pretty awesome

If I plugged my nose full of cocaine and decided to try and sing like James Hetfield (who's horrible in the first place), I could sing like Dave.
Vocals are ass-suckage.

"I found the album really solid but there was no song that stood out to me as a highlight. RIP had Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Tornado of Souls, the title track as definite high-points...that's like half the album. Headcrusher is probably my favorite here just because it's so fucking fun."
Holy Wars, Hanger 18, Take No Prisoners, Five Magics, Poison Was the Cure, Lucretia, Tornado of Souls, Rust In Peace are all high points.
As for Endgame, I need to listen to it a couple of more times. At the moment, I've only really gotten into Dialectic Chaos, 44 Minutes, 1,320', and Head Crusher. The album itself has a great sound in all instruments(drums are a little generic but they still have a solid sound) which I do like a lot.

I don't understand why everyone tends to associate this with RIP.To me it sounds much closer to Peace sells .It is as aggressive as Peace Sells, but it isn't as progressive as RIP,nor as complex, not even close.

I don't know if people associate it with RIP as much as they compare it (in a purely qualitative way)to RIP as "the album to beat".

I still haven't got this yet, definitely plan on it. And just to add to the controversy, I second the opinion that Holy Wars, Hangar 18, Tornado Of Souls, and Polaris were all highlights of RIP, but the rest was meh in my opinion. I'd take PSBWB over it any day. I also liked The System Has Failed over United Abominations, seem to be in a minority on that one.

ok but it's almost apples and oranges this way

True, the only consistent aspect is the band name, but that's enough. The same way people could compare Paradise Lost's doom albums to their Depeche Mode-style albums even though there's no similarities except the band name.

Still it's obvious the comparison has more meaning now that they're back into doom metal.and again, I see no point in comparing let's say "Master of Puppets" to "Reload", it's almost a different band

It is almost a different band, but when the old band stops producing their old music in order to make the new style than comparisons of the two styles come around to decide if it was a good change or not.

The intro to Firefight, not to mention the chorus and the nonstop soloing get my blood boiling and ready to fuck...some shit up. Favorite song here which I assumed was Head Crusher but my i-tunes messed up the tracklistings.
