Reliable Danish trio Mew return for their 5th album of densely layered & dreamy pop-rock; 'No More Stories...'. They once more do a great job of balancing accessibility with progression, as the intricate weaving of Jonas Bjerre's unique, haunting harmonies amongst the varied musical backdrop is as impressive as ever. This LP does not quite reach the heights of their previous two since it could have done with some refinement and lacks the amount of "wow" moments, but it's still difficult not to be impressed by the likes of the joyous, multi-faceted 'Sometimes Life Isn't Easy' & catchy rocker 'Repeaterbeater'. Recommended Tracks: 13, 4, 6 & 2.

After spinning Frengers and ATKHK so many times I found myself having a great deal of difficulty listening to this new album. Probably because it seems like they've dropped the heavier edge that their past endeavors were going for (could it have something to do with losing their bass player?). In fact, I was about ready to write it off completely after spinning it two or three times because I just COULD NOT get into it. Then, for some reason the whole album just clicked with me and I haven't been able to stop listening to it over the past couple of months. If you don't like it at first, don't give up on it. It's definitely a grower!!

It didn't need to be a grower for me, I instantly fell in love, but I can see why people would not enjoy this that much, or as much as Frengers.

I personally think that Silas is the best song on this. But that is just me.

I love when he says "Know the career" on Silas.

I think Silas is easily the weakest and most boring song on this.

It Really does grow on you. I bought this cd without knowing what Mew sounded like. and it was like "oh cool theyre kinda indie....but experimental...this is cool..." then "mmm...im gonna go listen to something else" and then i found my self humming it at work and i listened to it again and it was then that i realized this CD rules.

Sometimes Life Isnt Easy is easily my song of the year. The piano and backup vocals add so much.
