It's an awesome album, definitely worth a listen.

EDIT: Trivium were never metalcore

I used to love ABR but I'm still hung up on this album. It all sounds lovely, but it just hasn't 'caught' me.
Loving the Tommy Rogers though

not too bad. decent review. i personally enjoy the dweedle dweedle of beneath the massacre over ABR's noodle nonsense. messangers is a boring tedious listen.

Anyone know if this is considered progressive or not?

Not progressive by any stretch of the imagination, but fairly technical for a metalcore album.

@ ninjuice: lol. Truth.

I wish I could express to you all the sheer mediocrity of this album.

no, it isn't that bad, but I have great disdain for overhyping an album that has in no way done anything new or different. At all.

When i was first listening to the songs I was put off by how different it was compared to their previous 2 albums. Halfway through the album just comparing it to the other 2 CDs I probably would have given it a 2.5 or so. But now after having listened to it pretty closely and analytically I have to say I am really happy with their progression as a band. What they were doing before was good but nothing really that different within the metalcore genre. While this isn't groundbreaking it is their best album to date and sets the bar high for the rest of the metalcore acts to follow.
