this is absolutely the point that she loses the plot and buys into her own hype lol. But theres still some good stuff in the later albums for sure.

Fossora is great - definitely a late career highlight. Utopia... not so much.

it's weird cos I'd say this mid era (hehe 'mid') has arguably aged more gracefully than Post, on reflection - don't get me wrong Post is still fantastic, but it's kinda kitschy in places. I'm not saying this is 'better' (and Volta certainly isn't) but the balance of power has shifted slightly. I always enjoyed Bio the most outside of her awesome foursome but that status may be under threat at some point.
I don't hold out much hope of Utopia ever getting there. Fossora eluded me on release also, yet probably requires a revisit.

Yeah she is definitely smelling her own farts on this album. If she actually sang consistently well it would have been good. Her voice just meandered most of the time and wasn't hitting any melodies or anything

I appreciate your take Demon. I have only listened to the first 6 albums once, which includes the '77 album

I just cannot find anything musically redeeming about Fossora. Its the most... nothing record I've ever heard.
