Oh shit that seems a little harsh

Kids only like full collapse and war all the time and don't really care about their other albums. Which is a shame because I think that makes Geoff ashamed of them.

And yeah, I kinda hate their fans
|

Waiting is a gem and gets unfairly + incorrectly written off as de facto worst thursday
i guess War is probs in their top 2, so at least the fans got something right

Waiting rules and the mix on War is so fucking bad it knocks it out of top 3. pretty sure I could've mixed that album better on my phone

City divided is their weakest to me but that's largely because it's all over the place. People think this is a grower, I'd show them that.
I'm pretty sure war and collapse are so popular because they're Thursday at their heaviest. Which isn't what I'd call their defining trait but w/e

War is awesome live but the album sounds so held back I have no idea why. Can't properly explain it either. Doesn't feel as powerful as it should.

war is good but kinda inconsistent and i dont dig the production at all
then again my favorite is city and that seems to be what the general consensus is on that one

Same producer between albums too. I don't think the band were in the best place with each other so maybe a lot just got overlooked? That's an album that could use a remaster. The title track off that should be one of their best songs but it just isn't done enough justice.

the production on City is pretty rough, just compare the Telegraph demo to the final album version - completely sucked the life out of it. Autumn Leaves and Sugar in the Sacrament are bangers tho

At this velocity is basically a united nation's song.

Yeah, I heard that Geoff wanted City to sound like the UN debut. That would have been a crazy direction for Thursday to take. I love UN, but I'm glad they pursued the moodier direction. City is not my favourite but this one and No Dev are just stellar. I agree that it's a shame their reunion tours have so heavily focused on their 2nd/3rd records because to me their whole discography deserves to be celebrated. I would just as happily fork out for a No Dev show as a Full Collapse show tbh.

I would be so bummed if I went to a Thursday show and they only played Full Collapse songs lmao. it's a good album but they evolved so far past it

They lean super heavy on Full Collapse and War. Only ever a few other token tracks. Just glad that Turnpike Divides seems to still be a staple.

War has always been my favorite Thursday album with Full Collapse hitting in at second but I do still feel like the other albums get overshadowed by the vast majority of fans despite how well received they all are on sites like this.
I know Geoff has said before that he really likes this album and found it to be a shame that the album didnt resonate with fans as much as it did for him.
