Actually, I think I mixed some french & spanish, but anyway. Both those languages are easy to master, it's the Queen's English that is difficult. I've been listening to David Beckham to try and get the hang of it, but it's just too hard to sound that dumb.

Haha, French is hard I never took Spanish; I did German instead. Although languagues have never been my forte.

(Behind Beckham'ese) I find German by far the most difficult language. Italian & French basic words are a walk in the park.
|

It would just be "Pardon, por favor?" or "Pardon moi, si vous plait?"
Pardon. With a little accent thing on one of the letters, so it sounds more "spanish."*

I took the mandatory 4 years and at the end I could ask where someone lived, that was about it. Also ta for forcing me to get Colors earlier, its a damn good album although I think Alaska is better right now (probably because I know it better).

Yeah, school-language courses are less than desirable. Immersion is where it's at, unfortunately.
And for sure. BTBAM takes a while to absorb too, just because there's so much going on. Give it time.

I can hardly say one, two & three in German, but can count forever in the Southern European languages. Although, my Greek needs brushing up on... Malaka.
Where's Marko to help me out with some Cro. Yibenti.
Oh come on DavID, I know you are a cultured person. Help me out with some foreign language...

AN unknown songwriter has been revealed as the hitmaker behind pop duo Empire Of The Sun.
Donnie Sloan of Sneaky Sound System claims he had to threaten legal action in order to be recognised as writer, performer and producer on the international hits We Are The People and Walking on a Dream.
He was consequently credited as a co-writer and producer on the songs, but says the tracks were stolen.
"I created these tracks, on my own in 2005, long before EOTS existed," Sloan says.
"Musically, the template for EOTS is mine. They pulled the rug from under my feet and took my sound."
EOTS has been tipped by British critics for world domination. The BBC ranked EOTS fourth on its Sound Of 2009 top 10 list.
Sloan, the bassist for Sneaky Sound System, wrote the music for We Are The People, Walking on a Dream, Half Mast and Without You for a solo album.
Sloan claims he gave the tracks to Nick Littlemore, of electro-pop duo Pnau, for remix consideration.
"I told Nick I didn't want him to use the tracks. I was hoping to save them for my own project," Sloan says.
Two years later, Littlemore formed EOTS with Luke Steele and Sloan's songs resurfaced.
Sloan said Steele, Littlemore, and his Pnau partner, producer Peter Mayes, planned to use the tracks for EOTS.
"They were trying to copy and recreate my music," Sloan claims. "This would have, in effect, left me with nothing.
"So my hand was forced into allowing them to use the backing tracks."
Sloan, based in London, used a UK legal team to get writer, performer and producer credits. He says: "It did not quite get to the legal stage.
"But I had to threaten it in order for them to recognise my contribution. It has been a bittersweet experience. But I have worked hard to move on."
Walking on a Dream and We Are The People were hits in Australia and Europe. The New Musical Express gushed: "World domination awaits."
Without You, another Sloan song, will be released soon.
Sloan stresses he found positives in the situation.
"I'm not bitter about it any more," he said. "It's the hit I had to taken to move to the next level. "If I can capitalise on it then it's a blessing."
EOTS' record company, EMI, had no comment.

Oh my. There is only one good thing that come of this: A No-Holds barred cage match between Empire of the Sun & Sneaky Sound System. My money is on Connie kicking all of the guys' a$$es.

Changed my opinion of the singles. They're actually pretty good. Just took me a while to figure that out.

I think you can be forgiven in this case Kirgasm as their songs definitely have an infectious & growing feel to them that doesn't necessarily hit home upon first listen.
Jim likes girls with afros!
Just getting back to the news story, my guess is that if it had gone legal, this news would not have come out as there would have been some kind of confidentiality clause involved. Of course, they probably would have had to pay more also.
