idk apetite has a few good tracks but as a whole i think its overrated. the drummer on that album is such a hack.

Yeah I remember listening to it thinking only a few tracks were good, but then on a long car trip the album cracked open and it all rocked. Love it when that happens.

Appetite for Destruction is one of the best Hard Rock albums ever made. Nothing they put out afterwords even compares to their debut.
Back to Nirvana, I finally got around to learning most of this album on guitar and some piano work too, actually sounds pretty nice. This Message Edited On 02.11.09

First of all lemme start by saying that I am as big as a nirvana fan as there is. Cobain is my hero, blah blah blah I could go on and on.

but this album is definatly overrated. You talk to any die hard Nirvana fan and they will tell you the same thing. dont get me wrong there are classic tracks on this record...but Teen Spirit and what it became rocketed a very respectable album into superstardom. Teen Spirit is not that great of a song. Nirvana had much better tracks, and there were much better tracks on this album but it overshadowed every thing and really kind of took this album to places it wasn't really ment for. very good songs like drain you, on a plane and lounge act got completly overshadowed and these are great tracks where you can really appreciate cobains genius and talent for composing songs. Because what made Cobain a greal lyracist was not his clever witty lyrics and puns ala Matt Skiba it was his ability to express his deepest emotions and let the listener know exactly how he was feeling, and thats something I as well as all nirvana fans relate to.

now...I did say the album was overrated and it is. BUT! you should listen to this album! it's a great album! but take it with a grain of salt, because teen spirit was the driving force behind its star status

In Utero is the definitive Nirvana album, listen to that record and you'll hear the sound that Kurt wanted all along.

i always thought this album was really good, but not necessarily the be all end all of albums. little overrated but i like In Utero, Bleach, Incesticide and Unplugged better.
