Heard some songs from the album, average punk-rock songs and some radio-friendly rock songs. I still feel the The sufferer and the witness is still their best album so far from them. I expect better on their next album.

I still find savior one of their best songs but this album wasn't as good as The Sufferer and the Witness

I love hero of war, I actually think its a well thought out song that first lets you think it will be another patriotic song and then once the second verse starts its clear it isn't. I actually think it tells a good story, the only problem I have is the guitar during the verses, its so boring.
Savior is the best song though ^_^

I think I like this more than i thought I did awhile back. Dirt Whispered is a pretty awesome song that I overlooked.
Oh yeah, and the last three songs on here are 4:03. Wild.

not a fun album. I won't lie, Savior is seriously amazing, possibly one of their best. but the rest is pretty filler-ish.

Well I can say that RA is my favourite band I listen to them on a daily basis among other punk/hardcore bands, but I haven't listened to this album because I saw some very bad reviews all over the internet about this album. Ppl saying they "sold out"(as usual someone has to say that a band has sold out, just because they've changed their sound and that person doesn't like it anymore), or that they've gone mainstream, the album is bad etc...
Well I've started to listen to their last album a few days ago, and as a fan that really loved all of their past albums I don't think Appeal to Reason is bad, it has some great tracks like : The Dirt Whispered, Collapse, Long Forgotten Sons, Savior, Re-eduction Through Labor, Audience of One and Whereabouts Unknown; so no I don't think this is a bad album or that they've gone "mainstream" or sold-out(oh, how I hate that expression).
Pretty much a good album, but it doesn't have such powerful memorable songs like the past 4 albums had, maybe that's why some so called "fans" are saying that they've gone mainstream.
I think even though they've changed their sound a bit, they kept sending the same social/political message through their songs(which is what I like), I mean you can still identify yourself with at least one of their songs on this album, it appeals to everyone, and on the top of all they kept their feet on the ground, and they are still humble guys.
I mean you should watch the documentary Another Stations Another Mile, and then come and say that they've "sold out", or anything like that.

I bought RPM the day it came out. Been a fan since the first album. This one though is a grower. Siren was a grower, Suffer was brilliant, Appeal a grower. I'm expecting Endgame to be brilliant. (Though the newest single isn't pointing in that direction). Really dislike the new guitarist.

...am I the only one that liked Hero of War? I don't see what all of the hate is about.
