You can do better than that. It's amazing so many people actually don't do this. Check out any other website on the web for opinions on say As the Roots Undo and it will be polarised, people will love it, hate it, or be in the middle yet on this website it's 99% in favour of it being a classic album. Is that pure chance or because people want to fit in and pretend they like the same stuff as established users? I think everyone knows the answer.

^what poweroftheweez said...so sue me if I happen to enjoy music that happens to be well liked in general...if I didn't enjoy the music I wouldn't rate it that high...maybe the website as a whole just has generally good taste? I mean it is a community of people who are usually pretty passionate about music...
And as for "following trends", I can't stand a lot of albums that are held in high regard here, and I love a few albums that get hated on a lot, it really has nothing to do with what the community itself enjoys...This Message Edited On 10.08.08

I have no problem with guys like Illuvatar, who have their opinions on stuff, liking a band I dislike but guys like you who's favourite albums are a mirror of the websites favourite albums are ruining this website and any chance of good musical discussion.
Lol yes I only listen to music that sputnik likes. You should go through my ratings if you are that dim. The talent and songwriting alone should be a 2... if you don't find anything redeeming or worthwhile, then you must not be looking very hard. What did you do, listen to the first five seconds of the first track and say "WTF BAD QUALITY 1'D"
seriously dude.... and i mean, i even love they're only chasing safety... i just like the band. just because i like a band that is well recieved on sputnik doesn't make me a trend-follower... it makes me a fan of said band. While I agree that there are people that only listen to "elite" music on sputnik, they are few and far between.
And that's my 2 cents worth.

Did you even listen to the album? Just because you think Underoath is worthless doesn't mean the songs on this album are collectively AWFUL.
Then again, Pet Sounds is the only album that is really worthwhile or gamechanging

I know that Underoath wants to get away from the whole "They're only chasing safety" hole. but I honestly think that DTGL and LITSOS hardly do that. with each album I feel like I'm listening to the same song I just listened to with the exception of a few songs.
