though the breakdowns are pretty 'uninspired' this album slays and is one of the best of the genre imo. infinitely better than their first disc.

Garbage. Absolutely garbage.

I lol'd when the vocalist in the title track is like, "THIS WORLD IS ???????" and that gay breakdown comes in. Layered vocals much?

lulz

Quite frankly foreverendeared doesnt really know what hes talking about. Whitechapels cd this is exile is way more complex and technical than the somatic defilement. they show drastic improvement in song writing and playing. I think its very unique they use three guitars, 2 could be doing rhythm and one can be doing meldoic parts over it at the same time, live and in recording. The album is not over produced and there is no effects on the vocals.

After Getting This CD I'd Have to say I like it pretty well. the only "production" on the vocals was a lot of layering, which i could see how that could get annoying if you really focused on that... and 3 guitars... I say it can't hurt, especially live, because as someone said earlier, almost every band out there will have alot of songs where you're hearing 3 guitar parts (sometimes more) at once, and then live they can't pull off the same impact. as long as it stays crisp and tight live who cares if there's 6 guitar players?

these guys need to stop playing shows with bands I like. it was fine when they were the opening band because I'd just show up late, but now they're smack dab in the middle of the bill and I have to listen to this shit. 3 times is enough.

Drummer is astounding.

He plays on par with some of the best death metal drummers out there.

You can try to argue by saying that his fills are "always the same" and "bland," but seriously. A dude can only have so many toms.

Also, the use of all 3 guitars is pretty obvious.

"They need 3 guitarists to do what 2 guitarists could do."

More like

"They need 3 guitarists to take everything two guitarists could do and make it better."

What if a band has dual tracked rhythm under harmonized leads on a CD (like every metal band does), what do they do live? One lead, one rhythm. Whitechapel can have both leads and a rhythm, or a thicker rhythm with the one lead.

And don't say that they don't use harmonized leads, because you'll just make yourself look like a jackass.

If you're going to attack this band, attack the song structure and overall immaturity of it.

But do not make stupid accusations like "They have 3 guitarists for no reason," because while on album they only need one guitar player, the face that have 3 live will just make their performance thicker.

Don't say shit like "Over produced vocals." Phil is a beast, and so what if he overdubs his takes? Every band to release a CD in the past 10 years uses vocal overdubs.

So sick of douchebags.

who cares of what they can pull off live with three guitarists if they still suck? And the drummer is average, i don't see any gravity blasts or unique innovative beats.
