What a pick for a lead single (assuming it is one). This is less poppy than anything off welcome to the black parade even. I love that they muddied up the vocals quite a bit and went darker and heavier than they had in the back half their discog (not counting the more raw conventional weapon). Cautiously optimistic about what this next album will sound like.

New song is awesome but the mix and master is pure trash

Yeah there’s good stuff there but it’s so muddy

Seems like the muddy production is kind of a common thing with some of the veteran bands now. Underoath did the same thing on their latest album.

I'm a little conflicted on the mix tbh. On one hand it does sound like ass, but it kinda fits the atmosphere of the music too. So I'm not sure just how deliberate it was

Yea metallica st anger was also deliberate and it sounds like shit. Deliberate =/= good/unable to be critiqued

yeah as much as I do dig the new single, I did a discog dive this week and the production/mix/whatever has never sounded worse

I kinda like the muddy sound... Adds a bit to the melancholic feel. Overall very decent song, easily the best I heard from them after Black parade

I used to say sometimes that I thought mcr was overrated

But you know I just came back from their reunion concert and I was really deeply moved.

This almost deserves a 5 purely for its significance to the emo subculture. Adore the title track and Teenagers so much m/

I mean it kinda seems like the definition of a “classic”, though it’s importance and influence don’t directly correlate to it being a 5

That said, there’s definitely an argument for it

Its importance to me personally probably justifies it but im just not prepared to rate it yet. Need to dwell on it for a bit and dye my hair black and pin it with hair gel and slash myself a bit before Im prepared to give this the rating it justifies
