I mean that's your opinion man. I just came upon this album at exactly the right time and it's stuck with me for well over three years now and it hasn't lost any of its replay value. I just can't get enough of it.

Way too much praise for this album. A few good songs and that's it. The rest is filler and more filler. As far as "concept" albums go "Quadrophenia" by the Who blows this thing out of the water. But hey, that's just me.

It's true that most of the songs work better in context but nothing about it is exactly filler.

This album has no filler: Every song is pretty necessary.

^Yes. And they are all boring. Just like all of Pink Floyd's music, the most overrated band in the entire history of the world.

The little ooooooooooh ah thing at the beginning of Waiting For The Worms really reminds me of the Beach Boys.

Why anybody rates this as 5 stars is totally beyond me. I hope you rate it as such since it had such an impact on the music world. Musically, no way. I dont mean to sound rude, but this album is way too pessimistic, egomaniacal even. A good portion of it is Waters singing over some soundscapes, and thats annoying. And it REALLY bothers me Gilmour doesnt sing enough on it (with Goodbye Blue Skies and Young Lust as great examples of his voice and overall compositions going well together). Love Pink Floyd to death, but this is too over-rated, more so than DSOTM (Yes it is possible). For the record, Animals owns this.

Not saying The Wall is bad though. Absolutely not. I just feel an album like Wish You Were Here should have had more of an impact than this did. The Wall is just angry, and I have to be in a mood lol. This Message Edited On 10.01.08

The fact that this album is really pessimistic is one of the reasons I've loved it for so long.

Doesn't the last track end where the first track starts off, or something?

yes. perhaps it signifies that pink's situation, although resolved somewhat, will always continue through the next generation.

idk though tbh
