Well, I did state it rather poorly in my original post. I pretty much just said political songs suck, but I didn't really mean that.

You can always rely on Eliminator trying to be funny, but failing miserably.

"Honestly, there isn't one straight up metal band that can touch the emotional weight of a song like "Digital Bath" by Deftones or the political immediacy of a RATM song."
Try any Opeth song dude! Digital Bath is breathtaking though.

To be real, Opeth is dec but not godly like the fanboys make them out to be.

I listened to this album and heartily wanted to stomp on it. It's not because I want to be purist, I like Muse and Fall Out Boy. I just think this album is one big incoherent mess that never goes anywhere and ultimately ends up being a snoozefest.
Since the album is rated overall as a 4.1, your probably missing something, or just don't get it, cause people don't rate 4.1 for a incoherent mess, espically with the diversity of people who rated this album. And likeing muse and Fall Out Boy, is probably your problem why you don't like this.

Maybe all of sputnik missed something. It wouldn't be the first time it has happened.

I enjoyed almost every song on here with the exception of Prequel. Definitely my favorite album of 2007 so far.

Dont diss Muse man. He clearly cant tolerate the longer style of songs and the extreme use of progressive style. This Message Edited On 10.01.07

I can't stand both, but I wasn't really dissing them...just saying those indie/pop bands are nothing like BTBAM.

oh ya cause we are all BTBAM fanboys and anything they do is amazing, and this dude is our savior cause we have been under BTBAM spell. This Message Edited On 10.02.07

How bout back to the real album discussion?
I hate the 11:30 part in Ants. It utterly ruins an incredible part of the song.

I like the banjo part.

I like the two other transitions like that, but that one is just in a bad spot IMO.

I was expecting an epic metal guitar solo a la Selkies and Mordecai after the blues solo in Ants because it fit the blueprint of the two former songs. Boy was I surprised. I mean I guess the banjo was cool at first but now that the novelty has worn off I wish they just put in a selkies-esque guitar solo.

I'd rather have them do something different than do the same solo. Selkies reminded me a bit of Mordecai anyways.

At least they followed up the banjo bit with some nice work.
