I don't see how the vocals could kill this, they're pretty inoffensive, unless your issue lies with the idea that they may not be emotional enough, in which case I would point you to the the rational thought process of the lyrics to show that while Off Minor may not be the most emotional band they are relatively rational and that blend of emotion and rationale is what puts them over the peak for me.

i dont want emotion to be rational i want it to be animalistic and disgusting and get me arrested
