Spiritualized is better than S3 but thats not because S3 aren't great... the former is just in a league of its own

first songs is one of the best things ever but then the second song is so bland and it kind of kills the momentum

i mean it's not a bad song, just the first one's really experimental and pretty and the second track sounds like a sort of generic rock song. sorry =[

i know but you know how album structures work

the 2nd or 3rd song is almost always the most poppy and most accessible on the album, especially if it's after a fancy/experimental/grandiose opener. it's a formula sure, but it works very well imo!

also come together is one of the very few straightforward pop/rock songs on here, which only adds to its value imo, bc it's a particularly good one x.x

It was made in a time when structure went out the window because there was feverish creative abandon in the air as a result of skag withdrawal.

"Now let's make cop shoot cop a bit more cheery, poppy if you will...and a 1 and a 2 and a 3..."

This, Pure Phase and Lazer Guided Melodies are essential. The wheel comes off afterwards and it's a a case of picking out the odd golden tune. Listen to Lazer first dude.
