although this is "punk" and has some great pubk style songs, there is more going on here, some bit of sensibility which make the more straight forward punk songs play so much better. right before i listened to this it was Big Lizard in my backyard, and although I love that album, Wire 's album is way more sophisticated, but still fun

these guys were def part of the gap that bridged punk with something more sophisticated ("post punk")
they get more "post" later on but thats why this one is my favorite, love the cockney feels
