The lyrics are a bit cheesy yeah. It's also Rudess' one and only album where he's almost 100% spot on regarding his playing. I'd probably have it after Awake and before I&W on my list.

Not really. Their best song is A Change of Seasons and that was released after Moore left and Scenes From A Menory is easily one of their best albums and has some of their most memorable song writing (even if the lyrics aren't great at times). They started going downhill rapidly after that though.
