tbh Palms wasmt very good and I find this to be a bit more tolerable. The last parts of the album at least get a bit better. Only track off of Palms I dont mind is Only Us.

I just look at the averages for certain albums I'm influenced by and predict how that would play into the potential average I'd get for an album I'd eventually release, then subtract a half star for my inexperience.

Just don’t call it a comeback. I’m not being cute; this is NOT a comeback

but like why is it bad? not experimental enough? too experimental? bad production?

I remember my biggest issue was that I'm not a big fan of Spencer's cleans but I can probably get over that

I think the biggest issue with this is that a lot of it is fairly generic (most of it being well executed though). It’s mostly a “safe” album, though I don’t know how safe it is to change your sound up so much. They definitely took the risk of alienating old fans, while gaining new ones.

I like this, though it’s the worst of their Spencer albums. But I just started listening to UO maybe a month and a half ago. So I can totally understand why old fans who grew up listening to their old sound, were unbelievably hyped for this eight years in the making comeback album that nobody thought would happen, only to get a fairly generic hard rock album where Spencer screams so little...completely understand why those people hate it.

Am I the only one who really likes Aaron’s cleans?

I do like Aaron's cleans. Just not as much as I like Spencer's. Both are "whiny" but I'd say Spencer's tone has more to it.

aaron and spencer both kind of suck on this as singers compared to literally everything before this

idk i really like it when my fav post-hxc bands from my formative years don't stab me in the neck and become valueless angst rock a decade removed from their last album
