Yeah that's basically what I was thinking too, but you guys were my last hope lmao. Bummer. I just wanted more shit like Paper Lung or Vacant Mouth where it's got that dark and heavy sound but with very fitting clean vocal sections.

Paper Lung is such a magnificent track.

It seriously hits me in the places very few songs ever have.

I'm talking Sign of the Southern Cross-level feels.

Man, I never got the hype for Paper Lung. Now Catch Myself Catching Myself, that's the ticket right there.

It's Spencer's delivery, and the way those chords drone, and the transformation into traditional UO-madness at the end. Just dynamically super pleasing to me.

Paper Lung is so good, just keeps building until that explosion at the end

Absolutely love the vocals on that song. The cleans fit so well with the vibe and then it just explodes into those classic Spencer screams. Easily one of my favorites here. This has just been hitting the spot the last week or two. I just want more material like it haha

I don't like this as much as a lot of you guys, it's solid, but nowhere near DTGL

@SaveBandit - check out Oceana's Birth.Eater album. Very dark tone similar to this one. Also, just a breathtaking fucking album

Yeah man, Birth.Eater is awesome. Love that album. The soft clean vocals with the darker tone is kinda somewhat similar to this now that I think about it. Wish they would have kept with that sound instead of going down the Polyenso route.

Agreed. Really powerful emotional album for me. I don't listen too much now because of how dark it is (self-growth and all..) but god, their CleanHead EP is so inspirational too man

Also, the first Polyenso record is a total dream. Afetr that... theyre way more hit or miss for me

also apparently the snare sound on birth eater is the result of leaving the mic on the actual shell. Cameron Mizell recorded it in his like garage in college lol.
