The Becoming is one of the best songs and how it starts as as a mechanical song and while the as the next song said it didn't want it. Also while I watched the Attitude Era. Which used a a lot of ideas from this. Gangrel, downward spiral. I was too pure and happy for it before 20 and good for it......

I could get away.....the becoming eventually became me.

Nothing can stop me now
'Cause I don't care anymore
Nothing can stop me now
'Cause I just don't care, yeah

Hey pig, nothing's turning out the way I planned.

This is an album that when it was released it was a clear statement but there was so much other stuff going on at the time it came off as a bit ‘try hard’

The fact remains though it is still a colossal record and probably more important and a bigger statement now then it was then.

It’s a true classic

as tryhard now as it's ever been, you're just a product of reading decades of inflated statements about it (+ sampling however many often unfortunate albums it's influenced)

Nah am I fuck John.

I bought the Fixed EP in 1992 on a mates recommendation and it melted my face.

I had the Closer single when it came out and again it blew my mind.

this post edited because I referenced Q*Bert for no real reason.

ive been listening to a lot of other industrial like skinny puppy and throbbing gristle so I thought I’d finally give this a try and it’s just cock rock riffs and bad vocals.

I’ve heard closer before obviously but I always thought it was a track from like the mid 2000’s when they were in some sort of radio rock sell out phase.

You can’t come into nin in 2025 and say it’s bad music . How are skinny puppy and throbbing gristle even relevant in the discussion lol nin contemporaries we’re ministry and tool. Not freak music (which I dig btw)

by being industrial acts that don't lean on cock rock riffs and [whingy white boy] bad vocals ifg
made the mistake of putting most other industrial off for years after realising this sucked and assuming it mostly sounded the same whoops, Too Dark Park clears this for days and the minimum number of commonalities it has is a blessing
