great song
Honestly, the only songs that really don't do it for me on this album are Broken Beat and Scarred and Cyanide, which both just feel like filler tbh. Although the solo section of Cyanide is kinda cool

This one's a breath of fresh air compared to St. Anger.

Can someone explains to me why this sucks? I think it's an incredible album and it is definitely better than ...And Justice for All and The Black Album. I know the cd production was horrendous, but that was fixed, so?

I definitely prefer it to the Black Album, that's for sure

@baseline000: I wouldn't say it sucks, but I also think it's waaaaay below both albums you mentioned. The main reason for me is that it does sound by the numbers and rehashing previousw explored territory, somewhat being a fan service (maybe comparable to Star Wars Episode VII). It lacks any musical relevance and doesn't contribute to the development of a genre. Justice and black actually did that, even though I am not sure, that I do like the direction the black album pioneered....

Did the black album pioneer anything though?

idk about pioneer but it was a huge influence on groove metal

"influential" makes more sense imo
I don't know much about groove metal though

don't tread on me, through the never, of wolf and man, the god that failed, sad but true
even pantera were faster and thrashier in 1990, then black album came out in 91...
and groove metal aside, it also inspired wayyyy too many bands to shoot for the radio metal sound (many would fail miserably ofc)

But isn't this a general tendency of the 90s? Many grunge bands wrote slower music in general. Did Metallica influence them or did they influence Metallica? Maybe there isn't a definitive answer to that.

"i ... didnt talk about grunge at all?"
Yes, but it was the popular music at the time, right? I'm sure 'tallica check it out a least a little bit.
But influences are complicated, artists cross pollinate eachother all the time
