Absent Light was missing Karl's clean vocals. They're phenomenal on A Certain Death and Ebb and Flow, I want more of that.

They turn up in two songs on Absent Light, and they end up being two of the most boring on the album so I feel like it wasn't a bad choice (I do love them on those songs though. The acoustic version of ebb and flow is amazing)

I thought the cleans on Absent Light were done by guest singer(s)? Either way, I agree that they weren't used as well as on the songs they appeared in on this. The acoustic version of Ebb and Flow is actually perfect, yeah.

Cleans in Absent Light are pretty bad tbh. They are much better here.

Damn I haven't heard that, is it good? Do you mean similar style to the cleans on this or the cleans on Absent Light?

I know that the last song had guest vocals which sucked.

He's not the best singer but he hits the notes and they are well written parts. I like them a lot. Reminds me of the clean vox in BTBAM songs.

Talking about this album.

I think he was absolutely fantastic on the bits he sung on this. Absolutely brilliant. I want more of that.

This albums hits me with a flood of nostalgia every time. Those lyrics never did stop being relevant in some way or another. Weight Of The World was definitely telling me I shouldn't smoke cigarettes..

"Whether it's Devin Townsend's immense production, or Karl's own skills improving, I'm not sure, but he sounds absolutely monstrous on this record. In fact he even sounds remotely death metal-y in places."
