Yeah one of the biggest strengths Surfer Rosa has over what came later is how raw it is production wise

I'd say that some songs produced with Albini do make sense in terms of quality (bone machine and break my body) but other times it doesn't (river euphrates, oh my golly)

The second half of the album is like begging the songs to be mixed by Norton instead....

I always found Surfer Rosa to be the most enjoyable album of theirs to listen to loud. Gil Norton's production is a little harsher, though all of their original run albums are dynamic/quietly mastered so they're all pretty good to turn up.

>First three full tracks on Sun That Never Sets, off you go

Thank you. I'm afraid I will have to concede that post-metal is mostly wasted on me.

Not this album.

Your 2.7 is kinda lame tho we must admit. I suppose it's virtue signaling.

what percentage of mellon collie's royalties do you think have funded corgan's therapy sessions in the yrs since
and what proportion of its enduring success has fuelled them?

you could probably cut six tracks from this and improve its overall quality by a lot, but the good cuts are so good that i can forgive some of the filler gumming up the works.

I always think the fact Tonight, Tonight is so good makes me never listen to the whole album. It peaks so hard that nothing else comes close to me and I get bored and change album.
