My question is: if this had come out earlier in their discography would people still be lambasting it? I'm talking like, post White Pony. Are people just over the Deftones sound? Because this at least has more energy and variety than say their S/T or KNY.

S/T isn't meant to have energy but otgerwise I agree.

Honestly if this had came out earlier in their discography it wouldn't sound quite as recycled or phoned in, but I'd still consider it one of their weakest.



Also Nothing on here has more energy than Hexagram or the variety of a song like Anniversary of a Uninteresting Event.

I dunno, I feel like an album should have some sort of energy behind it. Be that an "energetic" presence or a more mellow affair... I just feel like S/T is bored and almost a bunch of B-sides with the exception of a few songs.
