The riff after the solo in Lack Of Comprehension

Yeah, that's the moment when you reconfirm that Death it's truly something special

first jammed this at the same time as I did Symbolic. That one sparked with me instantly, and I had always found this one vastly inferior (tho still good) so I just didn't give this one any more time really since back then (like 8 years ago)

I'm changing that atm and damn glad I finally came back to this. Really have no idea what I was thinking back then

Why are we pointing out individual riffs? There's not a single less-than-awesome riff on this beast.

On the topic, the chuggy part to "Secret Face" tho...

Nothing like this existed in 1991. It was fresh, unique, and revolutionary.

i'm not sure i'd say there was nothing else like this in 1991 (e.g. unquestionable presence, hallucinations by atrocity came out in 1990, the art of crucifying by jumpin' jesus, etc.)

album is near perfect. All those albums are excellent too, especially unquestionable presence. As you point out, Death were indeed not the only group who sounded like this in 1991 but I do think they did it the best.

"but I do think they did it the best."

100%. I've always put Chuck in his own league tbh.

Fuck, I'm craving some Death now. Haven't spun this in a while.

This one is definitely the most interesting of their albums up to this point. Haven't checked the latter three, should get on that
