After the guitarist who was on this left they lost their best asset
his solos on this are ridiculous but im pretty sure he didnt have a huge part in the writing process. they could easily write something like this again, prob just without the shredz

Their new one just doesn't click with me the way that this one does. It sounds hollow and forced in comparison.

This album had a few good jammers from what I remember, but a lot of boring ones too. Follow the signs has not sat well with me over time. Isn't recreate the best one here? That song's got a good amount of substance to it considering this band.

Jason was good on this, but people need to stop sucking his dick. The band is fine without him.

been saying this every chance I get cuz im pushy like that. Lee can obviously shred pretty well anyway.

Regenerate is so fun to play on my 7-string guitar, especially the tapping section

Haven't tried learning any of their songs since I first started listening to them. Never did have a lot of patience for learning new songs honestly. Always spent way more time just jamming out my own riffs.

I could get down with a band that starts writing songs with good melody and leads like on recreate, but just doesn't chug much if at all to needlessly fill space. I'm sure you could replace almost every one of the chugs on this record with a chunky, noisy riff and it would be better for it.
Or am I just spitting shit

'his solos on this are ridiculous but im pretty sure he didnt have a huge part in the writing process."
Then why was "tomorrow we die alive" so fucking crappy compared to this? Coincidence?

Basically my impressions about the whole genre of deathcore. Even with those 3.8 average deathcore bands, 80% of the chugging is boring, badly structured and a chore to listen to, only 20% is really enjoyable. All of them seem more focused on making room for the chugs than actually writing songs

But for real regardless of guitarists they're the same band. the same bad band.

did you just skip over The New Reign and A Higher Place?
TWDA is the only bad album they've put out...and honestly its not even terrible. It's just very uninteresting for the most part.

If they see how badly they fucked up twda then maybe they'll put out something good next. I wouldn't bank on it though

probably not gonna be good tbh. very seldom do bands like this go back to making good albums after they release a shitty one
