That album defines my last 2 years of high school. I haven't listened to this in ages, I can't wait to trip again and jam some Black Foliage! Always reminds me of Dr. Seuss strangely enough. But I always love this album. The fact that DACC has a higher average rating freaks me out, it has a few awesome songs but it's not at the level of BF.

i could never get into Cubist's Castle much at all. It just lacks the amazingly dense and layered production and stellar songwriting that Black Foliage drowns in
and yeah, this is a total high school album for me too. so many memories of walking in the forests during the spring/summer listening to this..

Me either, I own Cubist Castle and there are a few awesome songs but it's nowhere near BF. I'm not sure if Black Foliage is a high school album or just an era defining album of my life.
