I've always been on the fence with this album. I've never thought it's as good as its sales might indicate but at the same time I've never thought it's as bad as so many of the metal elitists love to believe.

Side A is still hit after hit...then Side B has a fair few deep cuts.
I still like putting the Sad But True intro on at full volume and striding about meaningfully.

It's honestly hard to evaluate this album at this point because it's been so painfully overplayed that I never wanna hear half of it ever again. But I really dont think most of this is anything special. The most famous song is the most mid riff. Generic 0-6-5 with uninteresting phrasing

The way to evaluate this album is it's Great but not as great as first 4. It's a 3.5-4. quality album
The ppl that underrate it are just elitists or people with underwhelming metal taste. And it's also not a 5 like the metal virgins would have you think either.. it's somewhere around the middle. A fairly one note and overplayed but quality album that did alot for the genre. Case closed

As much as nothing else matters is overplayed too, it is actually a nice song. I'd probably change the station if it came on the radio but it's just for the same reason I'd turn off something like simple man lol. Not because it's bad
Also, it's always these guys that come out of the woodwork that get emotional about other people's music opinions 😂
