Seen them live a couple years ago. A-MAZING.

I swear the BTBAM part is true, their fans in Boston are a bunch of fags.

Might just be the area Crysis, they were alright here in London when i saw them, but then again, i am a fan of the band so i dunno.

Well I'm a huge BTBAM fan so that kinda hurts my feelings
jk
but I understand where your coming from. I mean fans of the scene/pop bands of today are just stupid people, but prog fans tend to be really holier-than-thou so I can see that.

like you then? Lol.

haha
exactly like me
back when I was a DT fanboy (no 5's for them any more, ugh) I went to the concert and though every song was godly and that they were the be all-end all of music
than a year later before I went to see them with Maiden I re-listened to their newer stuff and realized how gay most of it was
so now I'm just holier-than-thou about a few bands :p

This more or less sums up the fans at both that BTBAM and Opeth show. But I guess if I went to an Agalloch concert I would be like that too.

Everyone at the Agalloch show was really chill. I didn't get that sense of elitism like at some prog and metal shows.

It would probably be like that for me at an Agalloch, Enslaved , or of course Cradle show.

Interesting. I would absolutely kill to see a show of theirs, but they've never come to New England so I haven't had the chance.

Yeah, they don't seem to wanna play the east coast ever. Had to drive to Chicago from Atlanta. Totally worth it though. Them live is like being in a spiritual trance or something. No breaks in between songs with new transitions working one song into the next. And they burned sage and stuff too. Got to meet John and his wife at the end too.

I would pay large sums of money to see them

I think they're popular enough now they should at least consider touring the U.S. Or at the very least being a supporting act for someone else.

The musicianship is wonderful, and the growls are powerful on "The Leper Affinity" - I must say this was an excellent intro to Opeth for me

Crysis, I saw BTBAM at the house of blues in boston this summer while passing through and didn't think the crowd was particularly bad. I've also seen opeth a few times, and yeah they're pretty egotistical but i didn't think there was anything wrong with the crowd there either, only thing that stood out to me that there were a lot more people that didn't look like metalheads at the show than at most metal shows in my town. Not sure what you noticed

"Dirge for November
This song is easily the most forgettable one on here"
Personally this is one of my favorite of this album. In my opinion the "worse" (if there is a "bad" song in this masterpiece) is the first one; The Leper Affinity. I think they could've made a better intro.
