Reboot got rebooted? I didn't even know about that...
Now all I need is an Art Attack and Pingu reboot

This is all you need to know. It was basically ReBoot in name only as a live action/cg hybrid about kids going inside the computer. Massive kick in the balls to everyone wanting a resolution to the original's cliffhanger ending.
I was born in 1993, so I was late on the shows bandwagon but still got into it after stumbling across it by accident at 3.

Yep, pretty much. One of the co creators of the original series wasn’t too happy about it either, going as far as to have this as his pinned tweet:

yeah I dont remember that show (the original) at all
reminds me of code lyoko for some strange reason

It's ironic that the new version is closer to Code Lyoko than to the original ReBoot (which was about lifeforms who live inside a computer as opposed to having people from our world who go inside the computer).

eh maybe with songs like Alma Mater, kind of. But Flood of Light is unlike anything converge has done.

Flood of Light is like post-rock pretending to be power metal!
I like it!

'Like converge but with a sexy female singer'

Diminutive lasses that can unexpectedly scream like possessed demons do it for me, so definitely the latter. Having said that it's been years since I've seen her and my memory isn't the best.

No, I think your description of her is pretty spot on lol

Really liked this but feel they need to get themselves a great guitarist to bring themselves to the next level. The album is low in great riffs (imo) for such a long one. If feels like the atmosphere in driving the songs is compensating for the guitars as opposed to adding to them.

| |
Band have never really been about riffs tbh, and only having one guitarist (and generally one guitar part in the studio arrangement) means that it sticks as a rhythm instrument most of the time

I guess that's why the synths stepped their game up
|
| |
Yeah, synths have been at the front of things since Hysterics
That said, I wouldn't say no to Rolo Tomassi: Riff Redux
