Load over RTL is one of the most asinine things I've ever seen.

Was wondering why the first reaction was "Load = RTL is dumb" instead of "Load > MOP is dumb".
Their first 6 overall are a great series of experiments. Reload was the first major misfire, which is strange given that it's from the same batch of material as Load but somehow much worse.

Reload is somehow 'more metal' than Load but feels weak

the initial plan was to release a double lp but they only had about half the songs finished, and those became load. I think they just rushed the rest of the songs that ended up on reload just to get them out. which explains the difference in quality between the two.

Good theory. At least that album gave us Unforgiven II.

I'm still on the fence about the Unforgiven sequels...both are ok but also nowhere near the original. Dunno :/

I think III and II are really good tbf, I just think the original outshines the sequels.

As I stated elsewhere, the original was my gateway to metal and one of my fondest childhood memories. Still, II is a fine twist of the scheme and III is largely pleasant but the bridge is outright glorious.

it’s baffling to me why Lars didn’t use a ride cymbal on this. seems like a no brainer for the Unforgiven and nothing else matters
