ummm

Salvation > SATH >> The Beyond >> The Raging River > this > Vertikal > Eternal Kingdom >> s/t

or something. new one would go just above Raging River ig, but I'm talking off one spin

Conventionally decent ranking with the exception being RR over this (wtf?), in fact RR is way too high generally. Otherwise we're good. I'll allow Vertikal over EK and The Beyond over this, despite my thoughts to the contrary.

Regardless of rankings that sounds like a very promising initial peek!

late era CoL is muscular and I love it, def better than SAtH

RR is annoying to rank bc the first two tracks sit next to the s/t while the last two are just below the Beyond, but it just about weathers the discrepancy because it's a buoyant EP and the good bits are more exciting than anything on here hm

this is better on avg but also less fun to listen to, so

STOP RANKING BASED ON FUN - YOU'RE RUINING EVERYTHING

This album certainly has a slightly subdued vibe that most their discog doesn't. Like, it's grainy, like a polaroid, and sounds like a memory welling up from the depths of your own subconscious. I dig that, but it makes the whole less penetrable and immediate. I don't think anything will ever touch Salvation but I'll be happy if the new one is at least on par with this thang.

Just replace 'happy' with ecstatic!

Yeah this album is a bit more immediate than others overall. I dig the "grainy" production. Adds a lot, especially to the The Silent Man. Also, Lights On The Hill is just a masterpiece in song writing even for these guys.

going to hold off for the release out of respect for the band. a leak 3 to 4 weeks prior to release has to be gutting for the band's promotional cycle.
