Honestly, WFCC and NH are both hard 2.5s, PTES is a 3 for me (i think this thing is mad overrated but it's still good), and HIAH is just far and away the worst thing they've done

I don't even consider HIAH to be a Converge album.

YFM, ATF, and AWLWLB are all 5s for me and firmly cement converge as one of my all time favourite bands

eh, it ruins the best song on the album (title track). the mix for most of it is stellar but it kind of takes away one of their hugest moments which is a major detractor. i do like the sludgyness and mix of the original a lot too, i feel like the redux loses some of that intensity

nice, it's cool to see ATF getting more love, that album is astoundingly good, same with AWLWLB but i think that one gets credit already

YFM redux is excellent, I do prefer it to the original but only just. I like that there's merit to listening to both tbh

The redux has Wolves at My Door too, which bangs.

from jane doe onwards converge has been one of the most consistent metal bands around imo (minus no heroes which i think was a huge misstep)

i think my biggest problem with this album is reptilian is just an extremely underwhelming closer. if i replaced that with 'eve' this is a hard 4.5 for me

I don't like Thousands of Miles either tbh.

Album finishes with a whimper.

thousands of miles has that cool bridge but then it kills the momentum again after the "thoussssssands of millllles" bit. i wholeheartedly think the title track here is among their best songs though, and cannibals, a single tear, broken by light, arkhipov calm, under duress, and murk and marrow are all so fucking good
