I don't see any problem with the cohesion honestly. I'm actually glad it's their most diverse because it covers all of what Anberlin have been and could have been in ten songs

Cities was apparently supposed to be called "Songs for Darker Places, Songs for Darker Cities".

I guess that paved the way for DITWLIAP's title then?

That might actually be good news for me Sowing as I don't like Vital at all. Hope to pick up Lowborn soon.

I didn't really like any of the 3 songs they have released so far, so I haven't had much urge to hear the rest of Lowborn.

It's a lot more electronically based than Vital.

pity because Stranger Ways + Atonement are two of the stronger tracks on the album (my personal favourite of the album being Atonement)

I think I'm just hesitant because it's their last one.

And I really don't like Dissenter. Is that the only song with that vibe on it? The other two songs weren't bad, they just didn't stand out much on first couple listens.

there are only two other songs that are as riffy/aggressive as Dissenter: the opener "We Are Destroyer" and "Velvet Covered Brick". Stephen doesn't yell in either of the two, though.

tbh, the album is really mellow - it's what you'd expect after Vital, basically

Lowborn is on par with this (outside of fin) for me right now. Also Dissebter fucking wrecks are you kidding me?

Lowborn is a 3.5-4 material. Second half is much weaker than the first one, maybe except Losing It All, which is pretty damn awesome.

Losing It All is the worst song on the album easily.

Oh, good. I didn't like his yelling on Dissenter at all. I like their heavier side, but not with that type of a vocal attack.

The harsh vocals on dissenter are fantastic are you kidding me?
