possibly the most overrated post-rock album. tied with takk... probably
that i know of at least

dude explosions in the sky is the shit wtf are you on?
""haphazard mish-mash" sometimes i wonder whether you know what the fuck you're talking about"
that makes perfect sense. it's like the band said "eh i guess we can put something there and a little techno break here but I'm not all over it, so it won't be as much a part of a song so much as a sign of pretense."
|
| |
so mono rehashes post-rock cliches but EITS doesn't? i mean i don't dislike either band but EITS make the most routine post-rock imaginable

i seriously don't see how that in anyway pertains to ctts.

oh and i'm pretty sure explosions were around long before mono, but idk

did you even listen to crowquill? how about in the nervous light of sunday?
otherwise they take one idea and play it out for so long (the last two tracks are so overlong) that it becomes outrageously boring.

The Earth is a Cold Dead place is overrated. But still pretty good.
Agree with Qwe
@Bitchfork don't say haphazard, it doesn't make you sound smart, it makes you sound like your trying to hard to come off as intelligent in order to bash an album that is clearly fantastic. I personally know your smart, but come on. "Haphazard mish-mash"? Wtf.

yeah i obviously did and i'm saying that your analysis is retarded. they really do not do that in any way.
|
| |
actually no they started at about the same time it's just EITS got recognition sooner.
but yeah sorry this discussion doesn't belong in this thread
on a related note i feel like i'm the only person who loves crowquill

LET THE FLOOD SWELL
|

haphazard meaning not determined/scatter-shot/unsure/relcutant.
it's like a bunch of genres just nervously scattered around without reason.

crowquill is pretty fun, though interview and same shade beat it

bunch of genres? it's just skramz. and each section is pretty calculated, even if not, i don't see how that takes away from it being enjoyable.

i didnt ask what Haphazard mish mash meant, I said not to say it, it sounds like you write for Pitchfork or something. Wait a minute.....bitchfork.....pitchfork.....

eits' was a landmark in the genre. it was one of the albums that, while awesome, inspired a lot of shit that was along the same lines and sounded the same.
|
| |
it's just skramz
There's an acapella break, an indie break, a techno break, a take on mathcore, and then some other bits an pieces within the first six minutes of the album, and from there it becomes more discombobulated and more poorly put together until each "new feature" becomes a blur - it's been done before but they wanna do it again.

Album Rating: 4.0
ok yeah it's confirmed you really don't know what you're talking about. how the fuck does one define an indie break? skramz tends to be mathy, takes that out of the question. "techno break" lol wtf gtfo. it sounds like you have a problem with the concept of a "break".
|
| |
it's like if sigh was less shitty and was skramz.
that's not a good thing.

I mean this album is so god damn forgettable and it's such a haphazard mish-mash I can't even believe I had it at a 3 at one point.
Haphazard is almost as redundant now as aesthetic is. It's SO forgettable that you can't stop talking about it, eh?
