you're making a connection that wasn't there. he never mentioned depression, nor did assert that only teenagers could feel relate to it. his statement is only centered around his feelings with the album, no one else was in the equation - let alone a sweeping statement about teenagers.

I wonder how me saying "teenage melodrama" made you think only teenagers can be depressed, but whatever, have it your way. Cyg knows.
What i meant by saying "teenage melodrama" is something along the lines of "cringe'y", but i didn't want to use the word for obvious reasons. The problem with "Washer" is that it tries to deal with a serious subject, but comes off as uncomfortably funny because of 1) the youthful voice, lacking the seriousness needed to carry the weight of the topic and 2) the overly melodramatic lyrics, far too melodramatic to identify with them, i mean "wash yourself in your tears", "promise me the sun will rise again" - come on. Even Goethe wouldn't have written that.
