Fair enough. Who knows, maybe I'd be sold more on the story if the album hit home for me more on a musical level. TBF I think the callback to One Last Time in the closer was a really inspired choice, I genuinely love what a balls-out wankfest Dance Of Eternity is, and The Spirit Carries on is a pretty great power ballad even if it is hopelessly corny. It's just kind of overlong and pretty thin on memorable moments IMO. I absolutely get how it could be a 5 for someone, but that someone is not me (at least not yet, who knows if it'll grow on me).
In conclusion, Dream Theater's Metropolis Pt. 2 is a land of contrasts, etc. etc.

I think the lyrics of metro 1 were supposed to make sense but the title was meant as a throwaway joke which backfired because the song was so popular and led to the band writing pt 2.
