i mean im not much of a slayer fan to begin with so maybe i dont really understand but a lot of this just went over my head every time i attempted to spin it

the point of this record was very tight, very concise thrash in its purest form with little room for repetition or overstaying. the production was also *incredibly* clear for its time such that nothing else really even sounds like it. i am not really even a slayer fan myself but it is a landmark for sure

i guess in terms of overall influence it's top tier but as far as what i personally look for in music, it lacks. frankly i almost think show no mercy's my favorite classic era record of theirs because it has such an unorthodox feel for them
