A topic that will never die, just like the Divsion Bell/Final Cut discussion in their respective threads

Man idk how an entire decade (70's) can beat Painkiller. Painkiller is at least better than Rocka Rolla and Sin After Sin.

"No it's not."

Are you 100% sure? Have you listened to Rocka Rolla?

@Blender: Yes I am and yes I have, have you listened to Painkiller?

Tell me SirLord, how are my comments presented as facts any more so than "Painkiller is at least better than Rocka Rolla and Sin After Sin."

"@Blender: Yes I am and yes I have, have you listened to Painkiller?"

Yeah. It's a really fun metal album with speed metal influences. The guitar-playing is some of the fastest and most complex of Judas Priest's discography, and Halford's vocals seemlessly switch from high pitched wails on the t/t to more of a conversational vox on A Touch of Evil. Whereas Rocka Rolla is directionless, has shotty production, songs that weren't even designed for Halford, and lacks the fun and energy that would be found in later Priest albums.

If you think Rocka Rolla has "shoddy production" then you have broken ears tbh

It's a really cheesy metal album with speed metal influences. The guitar-playing is some of the fastest and most complex of Judas Priest's discography and the music is all the worse for it, and Halford's vocals seemlessly switch from hilariously cringe-worthy high pitched wails on the t/t to slightly less laughable conversational vox on A Touch of Evil but never reach the heights of his 70's vocal performances which were actually enjoyable to listen to. Whereas Rocka Rolla is natural, has more organic production, songs that weren't designed for Halford to laughably wail over, and lacks the cheese and cringe-factor that would be found in later Priest albums.

Just a few tweaks to your analysis ;)

Painkiller rules but Rocka Rolla's production is far from shoddy. Rocka Rolla's t/t rules hard btw.
