Absolutely. And Mikael's vocals have never sounded better.

His singing really has gotten better over the years, sounds very good on the two new singles.

Encouraging to see Newpeth naysayers liking the recent singles, not sure I'll be able to refrain from checking.

Cave demon, I didn't even try to resist haha.

Not gonna lie, the new singles still can't hold a candle to the best of their heavy days. But I enjoy them more than anything they've released post-watershed.

No-one is expecting that at this point, I think people just want quality tracks that actually sound like Opeth rather than stale rip-offs of 70's prog rock bands.

Looking forward to the album!

Sorceress vibes in the second single again but, again, much busier and more interesting. So many things going on, I'm sure song and album will both be big growers. Wish the electric guitar had a higher rhythm presence than the keyboards though, because the intro sounds erroneously thin to me.

Might prefer the new one to Heart in Hand, impressed with both.

@Pleb jamming through Spotify now, to me it seems like the guitar riffing is always towered by the keys (except the bit around 3:30), especially 5:00 onwards. Still dig the single(s) anyway.

They get buried slightly but it's nothing too major.
The mix in general is far more spacious compared to this overall, thankfully.
