Wouldn't say it's the hardest. This is awesome all the way through. For me it's just my attention span and more listens could help me tbh.

Don’t get me wrong it’s still prob like my third favorite of theirs off the strength of the other songs. Wouldn’t bat an eye at anyone claiming Lay Your Ghosts to Rest or Telos is the best song they ever wrote

Damn, Telos is so amazing

Edit: Much of Astral Body sounds almost happy, that's so much fun

I feel bad for people who get turned off by stuff like Bloom, the polka section in Prequel, Voice of Trespass etc...

I can see myself 5ing this. I love their style and this is like the culmination of it. I could also see TGM, Colours, Alaska or TSC as potential 5s though. Generally speaking.

I love that fun variety the songs bring, especially the first half. I'll have to agree with Kalk, if the album ended at around Melting City this would sit better with me.

I was listening to this and checked the queue to see if it was over (because it felt like a good place to end) and like "shit, the next track is 15 minutes??" It's a matter of restraint imo

That was me the first five or so times I listened to this album lmao... and is still probably why I feel like they're the two weakest songs. (Keep in mind I have no idea what the story/concept of this album is supposed to be aside from s p a c e when I say this)... but they made Melting City feel a little too much like the closer to then be proceeded by an even grander 15 minute (or 18 minute including the reprise track) closer.

dud its the icing on the cake, the cherry on top, the piece de resistance, its necessary, its epic, its the conclusion and culmination of the story

its not fair to say the album is at fault just because youre ignorant towards its purpose tbh/imo

You say this as if like 99% of the people who've ever listened to this album aren't in the exact same boat as I am lol. That's another problem with this album (though I ultimately don't really care personally)... The actual "plot" or whatever makes no sense and is pretty much unfollowable in the context of the songs/albums themselves, the lyrics are just way too abstract and you can't even make them out through the screaming the half the time. Yes I know Tommy has released a book or whatever that explains the whole Parallax story, but that doesn't make me or anyone else stupid or unable to critique the album because we don't know the in-and-outs of the concept lol. It's still just an album at the end of the day, and whatever story is here doesn't make it immune to criticisms any other album would get.

thats fine but its length is based solely on the concept its that simple

Yeah but tbh I don't give a flying fuck about the lyrics cause the concept is probably stupid anyway. It's believable enough though and the music is nice. Rather have a story that 'feels' good than a story that is actually well written but ruins the music. This story 'feels' good with the music for sure, but it's no Metropolis, pt. 2.

And that is exactly why most of the indie folk some of the locals circlejerk to is total shite.

This is where these guys lost me. I need to spend some time and really listen to later btbam albums.
Bar Coma Ecliptic, always liked that one.
