This is such a drumming album in the least traditional sense. I’ve never heard drums sound like this on anything else. Right from the getgo 🤯

Maybe partially and he’s fine and keeps a nice groove here but whatever the reason may be, the way it SOUNDS more than makes up for a lack of technicality.



He’s such a kick ass drummer later on.

bumbumBAPBAPBAP. the syncopation on the beat as follows is so cool too, the kind of "hop" rhythm of sixteenth notes between the uh hi hat and snare or whatever

I love how varied the drum fills are on this, I mean just listen to the bit where the vocals come in on The Other and how the drummer doesn't repeat any of the fills after each measure. It's subtle but so engaging
