It lacks the musical diversity that makes their later albums memorable

like I get that it's supposed to be a sonic onslaught, but there's not much here to keep me interested in comparison to other mathy stuff out there

there is literally more musical diversity within almost every song here than there is in most core albums

Album has never really gotten old for me. I don't think it is quite a classic but i stilll believe it is the best release by the band.

There aren't many other albums within the genre that can be considered as classics, except perhaps for the obvious metalcore gems such as Jane Doe. This has definitely been incredibly influential but I wouldn't say it is a perfect 5.

Undoubtedly one of the best live bands ever that is for sure. i've seen them live three times and their presence is phenomenal. They are scarily precise despite the on stage craziness.
