Good insight Ryus, I just wanted to make sure I wasn't being a bigot by using the term, but I mean, I don't really ever say "marijuana" anyway, because yeah it's what gramps call it, that or "dope" lol

My enjoyment of this record and 40 Oz. To Freedom stems from a pretty similar source of pleasure. Fun, diverse, short, stony jams. Albums that touch a lot of bases with a raw style, and have a great time doing it. Both flow seamlessly from track to track, with great usage of samples and interludes to fill the gaps.

Wild guess: you could say he stay sedated.
Some say “Buddha-ed”
Some say “faded”

I've mentioned this but the hit rate of albums with a lot of sub-2 minute songs is so high, and the best of em SO good, that I wonder if that's just the way to do it

but this is on or a little bit above bee thousand's level for me and probably somewhat better than, say, pink flag. (damn)

eh it’s just an equally valid perspective, there’s wrong ways to make short songs too. Look at 2018 kanye

I mean, I'm no that, but Inalienable Dreamless is also up there for me. Kanye doesn't count: "a lot" is key. (although obviously im not negating the point that there are def bad albums with a lot of short songs haha)

the difficulty with short songs is how to make them resolve in a satisfying way

or at least in a way that leads into the next track nicely

I'm really not about this "unsatisfying resolution, but it's for an effect" trend in a lot of hip-hop lately. Climax, god damnit.
